Home of the World's Fastest Electric Car

Going faster and further than ever thought possible is the common goal within Dempsey's World Record Associates (DWRA).  As an established team of engineers/racers, the initial focus of DWRA is to push the envelope of existing technology in the area of electric-powered vehicles.  Toward that end, Edward J. Dempsey, president of DWRA, has gathered a team of the most capable individuals possible.

The primary objective of DWRA is to maintain and even surpass their own world land speed record for an electric vehicle.  The official world record of 245.523 mph was set in October of 1999 at the Bonneville Salt Flats by driver Pat Rummerfield in DWRA's electric streamliner, White Lightning.

This amazing streamliner also recently clocked an official one way speed of 254.229 mph during a practice run at the famous "Salt Flats".

Beyond the ongoing streamliner land speed record project, plans are being formulated to break additional long distance and speed records established by electric-powered vehicles of all types.  The following records are among those DWRA plans to challenge.

  • 1/4 Mile Electric Dragster Low Elapsed Time (Currently 8.861 sec.)

  • 1/4 Mile Electric Dragster Top Speed (Currently 141.121 mph)

  • 1/4 Mile Electric Motorcycle Low Elapsed Time (Currently 11.023 sec.)

  • 1/4 Mile Electric Motorcycle Top Speed (Currently 111.95 mph)

  • 1/4 Mile Electric Boat Top Speed Record (Currently  73 mph)

  • 1,000+ mile distance on a single battery charge
